Data Sources
FlightScope combines several public data providers. Here is exactly what each one supplies, how fresh it is, its known limitations, and how it must be attributed.
| Provider | What it supplies | Update frequency | Known limitations | Attribution |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| adsb.lol | Live aircraft positions, flight traces, squawk/type/radius lookups | Real-time (positions cached ~5s; traces ~30s server-side) | Coverage depends on volunteer ground stations — sparse over oceans and remote areas. Some aircraft limit or block ADS-B. Non-commercial use only. | Flight data © adsb.lol contributors, licensed ODbL |
| AeroDataBox | Flight schedules, routes, times, registrations, aircraft age | Per lookup; schedule/status data updates continuously | Free tier is rate-limited. Schedule and status data can be delayed or incomplete for some carriers. | Schedule & airframe data via AeroDataBox (RapidAPI) |
| Planespotters | Aircraft photographs, keyed by 24-bit ICAO hex | On demand (cached ~10 min server-side) | Not every airframe has a photo. Images are © their photographers. | Photos via Planespotters, © the individual photographers |
| Travelpayouts | Cached cheapest business-class fares for the deals watchlist | Cached observations; our scanner samples every 4 hours | Prices are the cheapest fares travellers found recently, not live availability. They can be stale or wrong — always verify before booking. | Fare data via Travelpayouts |
